MR Keat Ooi
Orthopaedic & Spine Surgeon | MBBS, BMed Sci, FRACS, FAOrthA

Mr Keat Ooi is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in spine and joint replacement surgery. Keat believes in providing the highest quality of care for his patients, recognising that every patient has their own individual needs that require personalised care.
In 2005 Keat graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Melbourne. He then completed his orthopaedic surgical training with the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Victoria and Tasmania training program and was awarded his fellowship in 2017 by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Keat has a special interest in treatment of spine conditions which culminated in his completion of the AOA Clinical and Research Fellowship in Spinal Surgery at Austin Health and Combined Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Spinal Fellowship at Macquarie University Hospital, New South Wales. His treatment philosophy for adult spinal deformity and degenerative disorders encompasses multiple regions including the spine, hips and knees. Keat is also involved in teaching orthopaedic trainees and medical students through the University of Melbourne.
To provide optimal clinical care, Keat will spend time with patients to answer questions, review imaging, MRI and other findings. With regard to treatment, he will discuss non operative management, minimally invasive surgical procedures or if necessary, more intensive surgical options. If a patient opts for surgery, he will explain every step of a procedure whether you require a detailed explanation or perhaps just the salient points. If a patient wishes to discuss a treatment plan provided by another doctor, Keat can provide you with a second opinion service.
Keat has private consulting sites at Epworth Private Hospital in East Melbourne, Warringal Private Hospital, Heidelberg and Frankston Private Hospital. He is also appointed as a consultant orthopaedic and spine surgeon at Austin Health.
